Grandma’s christmas cookies

Servings 3 dozen| Preheat 350


1 ½ cup sugar

1 cup shortening or butter

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

2 eggs

½ cup sweetened condensed milk, or heavy cream

½ tsp baking powder

2 tsp vanilla

Flour to stiffen – about 4 cups


Mix all the ingredients together. Roll out on a floured surface until about ¼ inch thick. Cut out with Christmas shapes, once there is no more room to cut out shapes, bunch up the dough and roll it out again. Repeat until there is no dough left. Place the cut out cookies on a baking tray and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until golden in color. Decorate with your favorite icing and sprinkles. Enjoy!
